I think technology makes us better but worse at the same time. More and more people now lack social interaction skills but if they naturally have bad social skills then they have a way to communicate without feeling weird or left out. Technology has made people's work easier but made more people less active.

College football players should be paid. This increases the incentive for these players to stay in school. This through cause and effect also helps compensates the players for sacrificing their bodies and time for the school to make profit. Since there is this potential for not making it to the NFL why not make the most of their football careers and the hours of Saturday fun. Football players should get paid because it will deter any actions that can be punished. “Many suspensions are carried out during non-conference games early in the season, where games have less meaning”(The Sportster). If a player commits an act that gets them a suspension the punishment will have more of a bite instead of a slap on the wrist. If they don’t get paid then there actions have less of a consequence. But if payment of players gets initiated it will help players perform and act better outside of the field. “Football players risk their body and mind out on the field”(debat.org). There are thousands of football related injuries every year. But what do these players get for risking injuries or sustaining injuries. They get nothing in return except fame and an education if the school does give them a scholarship. So what’s the point they need more incentive to stay in the game. These players are trying to go through college and attend all of their football practises so for most of them it’s a job. Anyone should get paid for there job and that is what paying these players would do. “They might stay longer”(Michael Wilbon). If these players get paid they will stay in school longer. Think of it this way you get a job doing what you love but you don’t get paid. You are gonna stay with that job until a better job comes in, and when that job offer comes in you are gonna ditch your previous job. This is the way college players see playing football because they are just waiting for the NFL to contact them so they can get drafted but if we paid these player they will stay in college for longer. Because, of them staying in college longer they will get a higher education. So in the future players will be higher education and be more ready for life after football. Overall college football players should be paid. Being paid would cause them to stay in school longer and get a higher education. They will be compensated for the risk they take for the school. And it will make players actions and attitudes outside of football because of the risk of losing money. |
